“What I wouldn’t give for a slow down, don’t you know,
‘Cause where I come from, only the horses run,
When the day is done, we take it easy,
Meanwhile back at Mama’s…”
When I was young we lived a slow life. At least it felt like it as a kid. We weren’t running around like chickens with our heads cut off every night. We sat down every night to have supper together, we’d do the dishes together and then we’d play games with Mom or sit on the couch and watch TV with Dad. Every week we would have my grandparents come over and we’d play games around the kitchen table.
There was so much TOGETHERNESS. I want that in my life. I want my kids to look back at their childhood and FEEL the way I feel about mine. I felt this sense of calm, peace and “it’s all good”.
After I started Coaching, I read an article on Pinterest about “front loading” your life. Working really really hard for a couple of years so that you can live the rest of your life like no one else can. Yes Please!!! I love working hard and I love working toward a vision.
I have this crystal clear vision of my kids running and playing outside at our home in the country. We have 40 acres of land and our house sits in the middle of it – set back off the road. We have a gravel driveway and a green house with a wrap around deck. A clear view of the sunset and a woods where we can all go 4-wheeling and Ryan can go hunting.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the go-go-go of life, but it’s so incredibly worth it to say no to some obligations so that you can just have relaxing family nights at home. And believe me… it’s REALLY easy to get caught up in the go-go-go when you’re in those first couple years of busting ass while you’re front loading your life. But even then, there are things you can do to make sure you have slow-down time.
On my coaching team, I teach “Healthy Hustle”. What that means is that you bust your butt helping other people and hustle to make your dreams become your reality, but you also do it in a HEALTHY way. You take good care of yourself, make time for your family, have regular date nights with your spouse, etc. It’s not an easy task to balance hustle with slowing down, but it most definitely can be done.
When you hear songs about country life and slowing down, does your mind wander to a different version of life? Do you day dream about country life? I sure do! And I love filling my circle of friends with people who are like me and “get” me, so comment below if you’re a country girl like me!
Talk to you soon!

A little about me in case we haven’t met yet…
I’m a Health & Fitness Coach and a Work At Home Mom. I’m married to the man of my dreams and we are raising our son and our daughter together. Ryan is a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker and works so hard for our family.
Our son is an amazing little man who loves to build Legos and has an imagination that I could only dream of having. He struggles with anxiety and so do I, so we work together and teach each other a lot about how to handle different situations.
Our daughter is a gorgeous little girl who is so independent and stubborn and we’ve taught her to be loving and respectful with those traits. Definitely not an easy task, let me tell you! But we don’t want her to lose that fire that she’s got inside – go out there and get what you want in this world, Baby Girl, just don’t trample all over everyone in your path. 🙂
I love working from home – it’s very challenging, but helping people find their happiness, confidence, energy and sexiness through fitness and nutrition has been SO rewarding! I would love to help you with that as well if you’d like me to!
