I have half-dreaded the holidays for years. ?
Holiday stress has been so overwhelming to me that I don’t even look forward to Christmas anymore.
It’s been ever since I had kids actually because there are
- Umpteen million places to go,
- No opportunity for naps (for the kids OR for me ?),
- After my kids get all those gifts, it looks like Christmas threw up all over my house.
I say “half-dreaded” because I really still do get excited about Christmas.
Hanging up the lights around the house, picking out a tree with my family, reading Jesus’ birth story and remembering WHY we celebrate Christmas…
All of that is what makes Christmas feel magical to me. What brings me joy. And THAT, my dear, is what we’re going to create more of.
